Before we can get started on giving any advice, there are a few administrative tasks that need to be completed.
The AML/CFT legislation affecting all New Zealand law firms requires us to confirm the identity of the people and entities who give us instructions. For more information on the law please follow this link: Law Society - AML/CFT Act 2009. We have teamed up with The Trust, Identity and Compliance Company (“TICC”) to make this process as simple as possible for you, and you may be contacted by TICC if they need some more information.
- You will need to complete a client information form
- Provide us with information which confirms your identity
- Once we have opened a file for you we provide a letter of engagement which will tell you:
- An estimate of our costs
- What needs to be done
- Who will be responsible for your work.
